Village charity raises £3,500 with the help of 1605 fireworks!

Having worked with some of our clients for the full 20 years we’ve been trading, it was sad that this year we didn’t get the chance to help them raise often much needed funds for their charity or organisations.

We did however have one highlight in our home village where we helped raise over £3,500.00 for the Parish Church who normally host the village fireworks display and was where some of us started the journey from enthusiasts to the professionals we are today.

The idea to fire a display from a location so that people could see the fireworks without leaving their homes or congregating in a large group was suggested by one of our crew.  We started by polling the village to see if they would like us to do this and we had an overwhelming positive response.  We established two sites and test fired some fireworks asking for feedback from the community.  We then realised that both sites had their advantages and by using both sites only a few people would need to leave their homes to enjoy the village fireworks display.  Two identical displays were designed that worked for both sites and knowing the cost we then asked for donations to cover those costs.  We reached the target in a matter of a few days and then carried on with the fund raising.  The date was set and then lockdown 2 came so we hurriedly re-arranged the display date to Wednesday 4th November.

Two displays fired simultaneously from two sites afforded the village a spectacular community event, completely covid safe, and giving a much needed boost to people just before going into lockdown.  The cheer from the village was astounding as was their generosity and for 1605 we were able to do what we love.
